46 miles, and we're done

01 Oct 2009 at 12:03

10,014.92 miles, done and dusted, well, more done and muddied, but at least it wasn't raining, or windy, it was a Christmas miracle!

Even my right wrist didn't hurt too much, which was nice.

I must admit for half the ride I wasn't paying any attention to what I was doing, which makes climbs very short, it also makes you ride off the thin "line" and into the squish and come to a sudden halt or at least to a wobbly slow, cold toes though, that's a bit rubbish.

Woot well done.
Pat yourself on the back and get decorating.

/stands on the invisible finish like, whooping and cheering.

Dude, that's a pretty awesome total. Again. Nice work :D

13:30 01 Oct

["like" === "line", obviously]

13:37 01 Oct

oo I've not used a === for ages.

thanks, no idea where the 'finish line' was, maybe I'll look on the GPS :)

16:51 01 Oct

(build your cross bike)

16:55 01 Oct

Yeah, must get to ribble for a 105 kit, poor;y their website DOES NOT WORK ON MACS, dicks

worked on macs when *I* did it ;)

17:39 01 Oct

Well Done, crazy man!

20:23 01 Oct

Woohoo! Now keep on going at the same rate through the winter :)

12:28 02 Oct

This winter's going to be just horrible, by my calculation.

It's this time of year the whole 'move to america/somewhere where it's not shit 80% of the time' idea gets into my head again

19:46 03 Oct

It must have been hard work today - mega windy!

Come and race 'cross at Bolton tomorrow :)

20:04 03 Oct

I don't have a cross bike

20:06 03 Oct

Well not one that's built anyway!

You don't need one anyway...

20:21 03 Oct

Cross races are for cross bikes, it's all in the name.

20:26 03 Oct

Oh yeah and it was windy, up at the mast the wind noise sounded like an aeroplane, very very loud... then it hailed.. :(

10:00 04 Oct

Matt I raced cross on a full suss mountain bike last year you will be fine!

10:19 04 Oct

He won't race!

12:26 04 Oct

I disapprove of using mountain bikes in CX races, that's my point.

21:31 04 Oct

Of course he won't race it means riding somewhere new!

21:53 04 Oct

well done, seriously impressive. Now either build your other bikes or ride somewhere new - you will go mental riding the same place all the time on a singlespeed mountain bike.

22:12 04 Oct

What do you mean "go mental"?

09:37 21 Oct

Well done Matt! You are a lovely man.

13:59 22 Oct

Hello, Gray, you're a little late, broke 11,000 this morning :o

(+ I'm not lovely)
(are you still in the big smoke?)

07:11 30 Oct

Yo! I've done about 11 miles this year(*). I am indeed sort of still in the smoke - working there, but living near Oxford. Bit mad, but there you go - lady works t'other side of Oxford so we live in the middle.

(*) Not strictly true, but it's a lot nearer to 11 than to 11000.
