It never rain's but it pours .. and it rains too.

10 Aug 2008 at 13:25

Yesterday: Super heavy rain, erm. I think I stopped 10+ times to defog / dewater my glasses, something that really pisses me off, that. Brakes gave up because it was way too wet for any friction to occur, but that didn't stop the pads wearing out. Got home after 2.5 freezing hours with numb hands that required over 2 hours to get working properly.

Today: Oh *HOW* many mechanicals? I think it was five... which was the same number of heavy showers. Showers fired at me with a 40mph wind. Coat on, coat off coat on, coat off. "Oh Sod It" I'll just get soaked.

I guess this is the start of the 9 month's of wet bullshit.

I managed to miss all but one of the super heavy showers on my commute. It was bloody windy.

19:23 10 Aug

Yes. the inaccurate wind doofer said 46kph, which is about 35-40mph.

I wimped out this morning when I saw all the rain but forced myslf out after lunch, no rain - woot! Hellish wind tho. I saw the awesome destruction from the rain the other day you mentioned, scary wot a bit of rain can do.

Scary how much erosion happens when you remove ALL LIVING PLANTS from an area.

I just bought some anti-fig swimming goggles - it makes a difference.

Oh, for riding the bike...

11:11 11 Aug

Figs, I'm not keen on, but I've never heard of special glasses. Those Christmas boxes of dates mind, they need repelling.

12:53 11 Aug

Fig rolls though, mmm I like those.

I'm not sure I want to wear googles whilst riding. I'm probably going to get some vented Oakley Radars soon.

13:04 11 Aug

Mm, I see. It's a fig/fig roll paradox

13:25 11 Aug

Surely you'll just break them matt, stick to cheaper glasses!

13:50 11 Aug

I've broken loads of cheaper glasses and they scratch really easily, plus there's no cheap ones that look very nice and have suitable lenses.

Oakley do a crash replacement thingy I think, too, plus I've always wanted a pr.

17:28 11 Aug

I just lose glasses, although I am tempted by a pair of half jackets I've seen reduced, might have to find a shop to try them on at!

17:52 11 Aug

This is only the start? Don't think I've seen a blue sky for about three weeks.

18:02 11 Aug

No, it takes 6 weeks before you cave in and accept there's 9 more months to go.

The night's are drawing in...
