Today's ride: 60+ mph winds, 2 hail storms, 2 blizzards, 2 failed brakes.
Thankfully it only got REALLY REALLY had half way though the ride so I could battle to 23.1 miles.
Oh! I almost forgot: Thunder and Lightning too! (well I assume there was lightning as I couldn't see anything on account of the white out!)
23.1mls | 7°c falling to 3°c, dry turning to ridiculous, v v v v v v v v v windy
Yes, I know 52kph isn't 60mph, but ths weather station always records a windspeed much lower than here, when that says "17" you know you're in for a very windy ride, 52 is the highest I have ever seen it read.

You went out in that? Madness! I thought you'd have chosen today for one of your days off :)

I looked the forguess for tomorrow and figured today would be better.. it was.. until the half way point then my face was pelted with horizontal hail!
Kinda fun, no one around, but really, a bike as knackered as mine doesn't work in those conditions. nearly crashed about 15 times because the front couldn't grip and the brakes didn't work.

Better you than me, today's just grim, it wasn't so bad in the wind, but when the weather that was about 40mls away when I started arrived NOT ANY FUN.

I can't find any forecast that's predicting heavy snow around here :(

Good. it'll be crap snow, not the (almost) fun, light stuff, no it'll be that wet sloppy stuff driven at you by 50mph winds.

to be fair, it was the lancashire evening post that used the phrase < href="http://www.lep.co.uk/news/Drivers-braced-for-heavy-snow.3729517.jp">"heavy snow"
so the accuracy might not be brilliant

let's face it "heavy snow" in the UK is anything over 2mm, which is the exact amount required for all the numptied to plough their cars into ditches or each other.
I have chocolate supplies that will last a week, so I should be OK :)

What we need is at least 6" of snow. That would be fun. More likely to get 6mm though :(
Still mental windy. They should put a windmeter on Winter Hill and connect it to the internet. The weather station at Turton appears to be sheltered from the wind as the highest windspeed I've seen it measure is only 23mph (and that was today when there have been 60+mph gusts)

yeah BBC is claming 17mph, no, the fact my car's wobbling around on the drive and I can hardly hear the TV for the wind noise suspects the BBC are f-ing liars.

xcweather is still saying 60mph+ which seems about right for the amount of noise outside!
