NA NA NA NA NA .. NO

25 Dec 2007 at 11:04

A quick trip over to the parent's turned into a quick trip back into the warmth of my house when my car entirely failed to start.

It's no big surprise when I've been playing battery-roulette for the past year, but it looks terminal now, battery terminal (that's an e- pun).

I'd worked myself up for a trip too, I find it increasingly hard to give two hoots about Xmas, but I'd gotten it into my head that it wouldn't be so bad, but, alas 2007 kicks me in the nuts again and I'm going nowhere today.

Today's ride was sloooow, set off at 6.18am, 31miles, the trail condition is terrible, the bridleway all to White Coppice is a huge energy sapping slog, with the tyres biting down about 4mm into the sandy top surface. It was even worst coming back down the incline, slipping and sliding, barely in control.

Riding with a HID is odd, I really expected it to be brighter than my old Halogen setup, the battery life was much better, though, and the colour was reasonable, but seemed to flick a bit red when I hit the bumps.

Also, everytime I climbed I got blinded by the light as which was more than irritating.

Not a bad ride, but 6.20 am is no time to be out riding, thankfully it wasn;t raining and the nighttime cloud had stopped any ice forming.

I guess I'll spend the rest of the day watching TV, wow, exciting. 7 rides remain.

do you want to use my yellow box if yours isn't working (or a jump start or something?)?

My yellow box works, but I don't trust the battery not to fail completely, as I charged it up this morning and it wouldn't start at all. So the battery's just not holding any charge.

Be stupid to do loads of miles when you know your battery's goosed.

I could only get the yellow working if I ignored the instructions and just put red to red, black to black and fired up the engine, not the method they tell you to do.

LOL!

The other method doesn't work at all, it just drains the yellow box and leaves you with a mouthful of curse words.
