Today's Ride

28 Jul 2007 at 13:31

Nothing interesting, just a sold 65miles of wind resisted pain (it sucks living on the edge of the jet stream). Certainly a lot windier than yesterday, I'd guess somewhere in the region of 50mph gusts, there's a small windmill thing on the other side of the hill that powers one of those "caution slow down" signs, It was spinning so fast I could hear it from 30metres away.

Most of the ride was head down and pedal stuff, mostly at 23mph when the wind was crossing me, and 17 when it was spanking me in the face, it was rarely behind me.

Now for the shocking news : my bike rode quite well (after I discovered the front skewer was very very loose). 19.56 average speed (up from 18.2 in the first hour) - 3.5hours, 65miles, right knee still sore after it went PING as I carved around some pretty ladies on the trail yesterday.
