We're all guilty of using these words:
"I remember as a kid the summers were long and hot."
Well, the kids haven't finished for their holidays yet, so let's keep on hoping that our minds are old and that the summers were never that brilliant and only lasted from about the last week of July to the first week of September... let's do that, shall we?, let's all pretend that the last 7 weeks have always been bad and our minds have just removed / distorted any memory of school days (I definitely can't remember 90% of the first 18 (29?) years of my life) - the 10% I can remember? ace hot days from July to September* - the summer starts next week.
* I remember a lot of rain too.
(Soz, this post iz less well wrote than wot I fort it would be.)

I think the problem is this, you block out bad memories from your childhood, therefore you only remember good stuff i.e.; winters with loads of snow, summer hols that seem to go on forever!! I hope I am wrong cause its been a bit wet and a massive Indian summer is on its way :-)

We have an "Indian Summer" every year, so doesn't that just make it "A Normal Summer" ?

Last year July was really hot and dry and August was wet. Maybe August will be wet this year too ;0)
