On this Day in History (2008)

20 Nov 2009 at 11:00

20th Nov 2008, I passed though 10,000 miles for the year, hard to imagine that in 09 I would be 2,400 miles above that number, using less rides. I guess this year's been a little on the insane side.

I didn't think that was possible after the 365 year!

yeah, that was quite hard actually, especially the day's when I had sore ribs and the week when I'd destroyed my knee!

It's even more bonkers when you consider that the cat 1 roadies I know, think this is a reasonable total for the entire year...on a road bike!

"I know a guy who rides this offroad", I say. They look at each other and then nod to appease the crazy man.

Even Robert Millar did little more than a thousand miles a month.

If I was a pro I'd ride less, because I'd not have to ride to undo the 8-10 hours of head banging on walls each day.

but then again if I were a pro I'd live in the sunshine and ride all the time because of the novelty weather!
